This 3-day course teachers the practices of using a total station, this includes set up, recognising and remediating errors and utilising the programs within the total station to promote efficient use of the technology available.

Course Content

  • How to set up the total station
  • List the sources of error when using the total station
  • Carry out calibration checks to total station
  • Data management within the total station
  • A guide to programmes for setting out. (stake out, reference line etc)
  • Setting out various elements of construction inc. drainage, foundations and kerbs including levels and various methods of doing so
  • Set up batter rails for cut and fill
  • Carry out as built surveys
  • Tips for faster processing of information whilst on site
